Vision Statement
We the people of Greater Hartford, in order to form a more perfect community, establish equal opportunity for children, promote their general welfare, secure access to available resources for their enjoyment and benefit, and insure their domestic tranquility, to ordain and establish this Community of Promise within the region of Greater Hartford.
"Leave an impression on the children in
your community. Pass along your knowledge
and ideals. Build memories and give
your children something to believe in."
~ America's Promise Chair, Mrs. Alma Powell
Our goal in the Greater Hartford area is to accumulate children who can’t find the attention and support that is needed in order to become a well rounded individual. We’ll provide sustained caring adults to help develop the youth well being and better one’s capability to interact with others. Our program will implement constructive learning and opportunities to contribute to their community. we also plan to supply young children with a healthy start and bright future by granting them information and services regarding prenatal care, immunizations and school readiness.
One of America’s Promise’s desired goals
is to reach out, through surveys, to school administrators to determine how many children are effected by this program and what plans if any, have been made to ensure this program’s assistance during periods of absence from schools. We also plan on participating in The Great American Bake Sale with local communities to alleviate childhood hunger. Another mission we plan on addressing, will be making sure the young people looking for jobs upon completion of education have a fair chance in receiving one.
